Made in Japan, Ice Bear King Combination Grit Water Stones offer faster cutting, than other types of stones, and superior polishing ability, with a number of fine polishing grits not available in other stone types.
Ice Bear King Water Stones are ideal for anyone looking for fast cutting and pristine, polished knives.
One of the biggest benefits of a water stone, over an oil stone, is that it's softer and therefore promotes faster cutting. Water is used instead of oil to remove the swarf (the metal particles created during sharpening). Working with an oil stone is less messy and you also save on costs by not having to use oil.
These combination stones feature two sides, with two grits. Also available in single grit water stones.
Available Grits:
250/1000 Grit: The 250 grit offers fast metal removal. This is the finest grit we would recommend for a dull knives. The 1000 grit offers a slow sharpening rate and will achieve a very sharp and polished looking edge.
1000/6000 Grit: The 1000 grit offers a slow sharpening rate and will achieve a very sharp edge. The 6000 grit will finish the knife with a near mirror polish.
